Niche or industry-specific job boards are highly useful for job searchers who are looking for work in a specific field, and they’re also great for allowing employers to reach a targeted audience of job searchers.

For those who want to create a job board or add a job board to an existing website or blog, there are several options for creating and managing it. There are several different WordPress plugins and themes that have been developed over the past few years for running job boards.

I have used 2 commercial plugins and 1 commercial theme for job boards with very mixed results. In some cases setting up the job board was rather complicated, and in other cases the support was poor and the developer disappeared. If you’re building a website or a critical part of a website on a commercial plugin or theme it’s important to have confidence that the product will continue to be supported in the future, otherwise you could have major problems as new versions of WordPress are released.

Every other guy I meet who works in a SEO Company, whatever his designation may be wants to learn PPC i.e Pay Per Click and more specially interested in Google Adwords. Whenever I ask them why they want to learn PPC, 9 out of 10 times answer is for better pay cheque. And when I ask them what had been done to acquire that knowledge, 6 out of 10 times i here, my company doesn’t allow me to work on Adwords campaign management so i dont know about it. Common you don’t get a good pay if you don’t know anything.

It’s not that all just say we do not know, there are people who read Adwords help forums, guides as well as other content on the web to gain knowledge about it. But the problem is its all theoretical, till you don’t work in a live environment or put your knowledge in practice it’s no worth or you can say of zero value.

Well I have got a solution for this, many would not know that you can use the Google Adwords interface without paying anything, yes you heard it right you don’t need to pay to get started, only thing is your campaign wont be live that’s fine enough atleast you would be having an experience of how to manage the interface, actually see what different things are there and try out what not. It works as a simulator kind of thing where you can practice.

You just need to login with your gmail account into Adwords and you will be asked to first mention your time zone and currency, click continue, your account is now verified and you can now login into Adwords. Now this is were you can try out all things. Start with creating a campaign and here is what you can play with

Traveling rocks. Practically everyone likes to travel, whether by land, sea or air. And why not? You get excited to see new environments and people, try new things, and be surrounded by fresh and inspiring surroundings. But did you know that traveling can actually help your design work as well? Yep, there are at least 5 reasons travel can improve your design work.

Now, to be clear, traveling doesn’t directly help your designs (except for reason #4 below). Rather, travel can indirectly improve your design work by improving yourself. When you become better/happier/more excited, your work becomes better as well. It’s like fuel for your brilliant work, and traveling constantly refuels you. The reasons explained below will show you just how traveling does that.

Without further ado, here are 5 reasons travel can improve your design work:

1. You have more effective and focused work sessions

Due to less work time, you’re forced to focus and finish a design or project within that time. It’ll be a more intense crunch-time style work session, but you won’t needlessly stretch out your designing time. You save time that you can put into more work or, y’know, taking in and enjoying the rest of your day.

On the morning of Friday January 7th, I was reading the local news on our local daily newspaper, The Burlington Free Press’s website*. As I clicked through the happenings around Vermont, I came across an article titled 11 Places to Eat Breakfast in 2011, and as a man who likes his breakfast, I clicked the link and began to read. As I scrolled down the page I realized that my favorite breakfast place Handy’s Lunch was not on the list and nor was another great neighborhood breakfast place called August First. Finding this totally unacceptable I got on Twitter and saw that Earl, the third generation owner of Handy’s, had seen the article 2 hours earlier and had asked the Free Press why he had been snubbed. I was glad to see that he had called them out, but there had not been much followup, most likely because not to many people are on twitter at 7 am when Earl had posted it up.

Before I go any further, let me tell you a little bit about Earl and Handy’s lunch. Handy’s is an old style U shaped lunch counter; you sit down and everyone talks to each other and discusses the days events. It is a truly wonderful place. What makes it what it is is Earl. Earl knows the majority of the people who come into the diner by name, some people don’t even have to order, he just knows what they want before they sit down. It is the kind of place that when I moved to the area, becoming a regular there was high on my list of priorities. After I had earned regular status at Handy’s, I heard Earl talking about how he was having a hard time attracting new customers, because while when the restaurant was started it was in a commercial area near the waterfront, now it was in a quiet residential neighborhood. I said to him, “Earl, every time I come in here, you are holding court and people are talking. This is the kind of place people want to be a part of, all you need to do is expand the lunch counter online. Get on Twitter!” That was all I had to do and he was away and running. At last count he had been featured in two articles on  Social Media for small business, had been voted by a Vermont-wide poll as the runner up for best Twitter Stream in Vermont and had 704 followers. He is a social media natural because he has the basic required equipment; he is social.

Now that you have a little background info, let me tell you what happened on Friday.

Just after I saw the article, I tweeted

The news crew from WCAX visited Union Street Media yesterday. Our Founder and President, Ted Adler, toured them around our office and spoke about the current business environment in Vermont. The story is about the optimism of local Vermont businesses for the New Year as expansion and hiring is predicted to increase from two years prior.

Over the past decade there has been a tremendous increase in the amount of three-dimensional available to view both at the cinema and from the comfort of your own homes, ranging from anaglyphic films (they’re the ones where you had to wear a pair of groovy red and blue glasses) to the latest RealD 3D technology which is what is currently being used in most cinemas.

In this post we will be taking a look at a number of movie posters of films that were released in 3D (please note that most of these were also available in 2D); we will be pointing out trends used throughout all of the posters, and how different posters advertise the 3D films in different ways. We also want to know which one you think most successfully advertises the film as a 3D production, so get discussing the comments area!

Spy Kids 3D: Game Over (2003)

Spy Kids 3D

Several techniques are used in this poster to make it appear more three-dimensional, with the most noticeable being the actresses arm which is well out of proportion making it seem as if it is coming out of the poster. A couple of other little additions to make this poster more suitable for a 3D movie is the 3D anaglyph glasses the actor is wearing, and also how the poster reads “COMING AT YOU JULY 25TH” instead of “COMING TO A CINEMA NEAR YOU JULY 25TH”.
